Though London awaits the joyful arrival of Christmas, miserly Ebenezer Scrooge (Jim Carrey) thinks it's all humbug, berating his faithful clerk and cheerful nephew for their view. Later, Scrooge encounters the ghost of his late business partner, who warns that three spirits will visit him this night. The ghosts take Scrooge on a journey through his past, present and future in the hope of transforming his bitterness.

While for some there is something disconcerting about the lifeless eyes of the otherwise life like characters, it certainly lends itself to large 3D cinemas, with rubber faced characters and grand sweeping movement.

Love this movie. The visuals are beautiful and the dark fantasy/christmas horror aesthetic is amazing. It’s magical but also haunting. The computer animation might be a bit outdated now, however, the imagery actually looks very accurate to the original book illustrations, which is why I like it so much.

Great movie by far i remembered, Many parts of the movie were unnecessarily terrifying, especially the corpse that appears at the very beginning of the movie. i wouldn't recommend watching until they are around 11 since the movie would probably be terrifying to young kids

Jim Carey's acting is amazing, the MoCap is not bad for 2009, the story focuses closely to the book by Charles Dickens and does an amazing job of introducing the story to newer audiences. (Even if Disney was too greedy on thier expectations for its box office.)

Before, it was perceived as mere spectacle with a thematically, morally demonstrative story. Now, it blooms in age to deem this adaptation on faithful par with the 1951 film over additional expressive depth upon improved visionary and Carrey’s earnestly ranging elevation that excelled the story’s soulful essence. (B+)

A wonderful cartoon gets me into the Christmas spirit. I also love the use of the great Christmas carols. I enjoyed it so much I bought a copy. Jim Carrey & the cast of voices/characters do a fine job.

Decided to watch for Christmas, what a god awful movie. I’m a big fan of Jim Carey, but this was his worst performance so far. The movie was slow, and the animations something similar to a night terror. Not worth the watch, stopped half way through.
