Dave S @RT09031536 Apr 5, 2025 Here's the thing: I'm a huge Dickens fan, so I've read all his books and am now watching all film adaptations of them. If you're even slightly similar to me, you should watch this. I find something in every Dockens film that touches me in some way. This movie, while obviously flawed, in ways I, as a film watcher not maker, am not the one to critique; but as a reader, I will give it it's due credit for presenting Dickens to me and allowing me, once again, to renew my love for his brilliant story-telling, appreciate his genius for character crafting, and understanding of the human condition. I am always inspired. See more

Jul 20, 2013 Early adaptation of the famous novel, this Monogram production about an orphan child risking a life in crime and corruption from an early age is obviously rushed, cheap and overall poor, as well as outdated and difficult to watch. See more

Jan 26, 2012 This black-and-white film adaptation of 'Oliver Twist' is as good as the original novel, starting with the character's life at the orphanage. It's short yet okay for me. See more

Oct 6, 2010 The story of Oliver Twist is well portrayed as I remember him from the book. Fagan, Doger, Spikes and Nancy are excellent characters. See more
