Beneath its summer-camp gloss lies a sophisticated piece of dramaturgy that honors the "twin-swap" tradition dating back to Roman comedy. The film uses mistaken identity as a lens to resolve character conflicts. Amanda and Alyssa trade lives to fix their parents' relationships, creating a "double marriage plot" that keeps the audience ahead of the characters—the hallmark of effective farce. Rather than forcing realism, the film embraces a fairy-tale logic where coincidence drives the plot. It doesn't aim for psychological depth, and that’s fine; it succeeds as a precise, structurally intelligent family comedy. The Olsen twins navigate the complex dual-performance requirement with genuine skill. Cheesy, cute, FUN characters that I find really well done… (CLARICE)! Great comedic timing, and the music and soundtrack hit. Cantaloop dance party for the *win.* I’m shocked, so I literally made an account to leave this rating. It doesn’t mar what this movie means to me, and I’m here to back it up.
