See more Matthew T @Mattonio76 May 8 Jane Austen's Mafia! – If you like Airplane! or Naked Gun, you’ll probably get a few laughs out of this one, even though it’s pretty obvious the Abrams/Zucker comedy train was hitting the end of the line. It’s a very dumb, very cartoonish spoof of The Godfather and Casino. Why those two? Because one’s a legendary classic and the other was a shiny new hit in the '90s. Makes sense... sort of. There are a few decent jokes tossed in about other crime flicks like Scarface, but most of the humor is just random pop culture references to stuff like Child’s Play, Jurassic Park, and Forrest Gump. Why those? Because, well—it was the '90s. This isn’t a classic spoof, or even a particularly good one, but if you’re bored on a weekend and want to watch something dumb, it'll do the trick.
