Paul C @paulcesare Oct 26, 2026 Pretty decent thriller and smart investigators' plot, with many twists. Detective movies from the 2000's are another level that we don't see anymore See more

Jovana M. @J_loves_movies May 10, 2026 Great movie! Surprised by such low scores here. It is an entertaining watch and a great plot. As a side note, early 2000's movies are just peak filmmaking. Sure it is somewhat predictable with two teens trying to get away with murder, but is still unique compared to what is realeased nowadays! Great cast and excellent acting. See more

Marco L @decatur555 Feb 6, 2026 Murder by Numbers is an easy-to-watch but highly predictable thriller. It moves along smoothly and stays competent throughout, yet it plays things far too safe, placing every twist exactly where you expect it. The film rarely tries to mislead or challenge the viewer, which drains much of its tension. Sandra Bullock is the clear highlight, stepping away from her usual warmth to portray a more guarded and weary character, often elevating scenes that would otherwise feel flat. The rest of the cast does its job without standing out. The problem isn’t a lack of professionalism, but a lack of risk. Everything feels clean, controlled, and comfortable, even when the story hints at darker psychological territory. It entertains just enough to pass the time, then fades from memory. Perfectly watchable — and just as easily forgettable. See more

TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Jan 8, 2026 Murder by Numbers is a film I’ve always enjoyed far more than its reputation suggests. Led by Sandra Bullock, the movie works as an engaging detective thriller that keeps you invested in solving the crime alongside her character. Bullock brings toughness, intelligence, and authority, reminding you why she remains one of the most dependable movie stars of her era. Ryan Gosling delivers a standout performance, offering a chilling contrast to Bullock’s grounded presence, while Michael Pitt and Ben Chaplin add depth and tension. The screenplay isn’t perfect, but the direction succeeds in letting the audience play along, piecing together clues and motives. Underrated and entertaining, this is a thriller worth revisiting rather than dismissing. See more

Jerod S @jeroduptown Dec 23, 2025 A predictable mystery that's more about mentally unstable teen boys than it is murder. Bullock is the damaged cop that "figures" it all out. See more
