Critics Consensus

Overloaded with pop culture references, but lacking in compelling characters and plot, Doogal is too simpleminded even for the kiddies.

The slapdash dialogue and smug vocal talent detract from the visual appeal of the most energetic sequences (like a raucous train chase) and what's left of Danot's designs.

Too often those behind the slick 3-D animation spectacles aimed at children imbue them with too much adult humor.

A delight for very young children and any parent who'll get the Attorney General joke of "Geneva Convention? I don't care if it's a Star Trek convention!"

The animation is unappealing, the story escalates quickly, the characters are annoying and unlikable, the voice acting is terrible, and the jokes are ultimately what kills this movie. The jokes consist of low brow fart jokes to references that happen so often that it will drive you to insanity.

One of the best movies ever created. Don't listen to these losers in the reviews who have never seen good film in their life. This was a very heartfelt movie on a little dog who matures along the way to save his beloved owner. An absolute breathtaking acting job done by all parts. I feel as if this is one of the best childhood movies I ever grew up on. I will always and forever be a Doogal stan. Doogal 4 life.

With the unfunny overloaded pop-culture references and the unfaithfulness to the original show and the original UK and French versions of the film, "Doogal" is the US dub of the film that ought to be sealed underneath a magical carousel forever.
