As the object of satire gets bigger the jokes become thinner, and Christopher Guest isn't as droll or insightful here than when he was lampooning smaller subjects.

It was a bit too disjointed for me to enjoy even with the great Catherine O'Hara. Some other characters were just too bonkers for me. I could have used a few more grounded moments in this story.

I can't believe I have just watched this movie for the first time. This had me laughing harder than I have in a long time. Comedy lately is mostly pleasant and chuckle worthy, but this has some real laughs. There are also soooo many familiar faces. Several that only became familiar in different shows and movies later on, so it's a treat to spot them. Everyone is fantastic. It definitely doesn't go out with a punch. I think one moment of the cast member who did get nominated might've been a good way to close. But Catherine O'Hara was still perfection. I also can't believe the low ratings!! Just the premise of the movie within this movie was gold, and them in character doing their southern accents. C'mon!

This gets so dark and bleak. No wonder that everyone hates it. Catherine O'Hara's performance is just incredible here, without vanity and willing to go there.

Not feeling mockumentary from previous Guest's mockumentary films however this could be perfect for oscar buzz just like every movies and films that should be nominated for a oscar this is what it feels like for not getting consideration for a oscar.

I haven’t viewed this movie for a couple years. But I have seen it several times, and I think it’s fantastic. I mean, it’s perfect viewing now with the Oscar nominations recently.The whole cast is wonderfully funny. Catherine plays a pseudo serious actress who hears through the grapevine she is to be nominated Well, she really goes through the wringer waiting and wondering. 🎬

This one is a dud. I really regret watching it because I feel I can never get that time back to do something useful. I laughed a couple times - which is why I rated it this highly. It is bad for the soul to watch something this dreadful.
