In 2028, OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. While its drones have long been used by the military overseas, their use is forbidden in American law enforcement. However, OmniCorp gets a golden opportunity to crack that market when Detroit cop Alex Murphy is critically injured in the line of duty. By transforming Murphy into a cyborg, OmniCorp executives hope to rake in billions for their shareholders, but they forget one thing: There's still a man inside the machine.

[A]fter an opening sequence as promising as the one here, it needs at least an attempted follow-through, not the jumble of confused ideas and time-wasting effects that take up the bulk of the film.

In my opinion, the RoboCop remake is one of the worst films ever made. It's awful and doesn't even come close to the original 1987 film. The biggest problem is the character's complete lack of empathy; he seems more like a generic mix of Batman and a ninja than the hero we know. The choice of the black armor was a terrible mistake and a lack of respect for Peter Weller's legacy. But the "original sin" of this version is undoubtedly the absence of soul and violence. Where is the blood and visceral intensity that made the first film so real? Turning RoboCop into a "clean" action film without the social satire of the original was a cinematic crime. Unfortunately, this black version is garbage that I prefer to forget. The 1987 classic remains unsurpassed.

I was a huge RoboCop fan growing up... The sci fi gore of the originals was amazing... This one just felt rushed. The acting was ok but the plot felt lacking something and very rushed to end before it got started
