It's visually appealing; the cinematography, the colour scheme of the film, and the extensive portrayal of the colour red, where the entire screen is bathed in it, used to convey danger and fear, really set the mood. I do not understand why many people dislike it so much, calling it 'unoriginal', when a central point of the film is to be deliberately unoriginal. The title of the movie is literally "A classic horror story", where it entails the cliches of most horror movies. Where stupid decisions are made that lead to heavy consequences, faulty technology, a creepy old house, the inability to leave the setting they are in, and a cult that basically wants to butcher you. The only thing that ties these cliches together in this film is a twist. It is a good film, bravo for the cinematic appeal. I did enjoy the film even though I found the pacing to be quite rushed, but it was good. Definitely thought the decisions were dumb, but it is what it is.
