The Adventures of Pluto Nash is neither adventurous nor funny, and Eddie Murphy is on autopilot in this notorious box office bomb.

The result is something quite rare in professional show business: 1 1/2 hours of pure blankness. It's there but it's not there. It is but it isn't. It has nothing to offer. It's not forgettable, really, because there's nothing to forget. Go to Full Review Jonathan Curiel San Francisco Chronicle May 23, 2013

Formulaic films are released every week, but it's rare that one has a $100 million budget, big stars whose roles are embarrassing to watch and unusual special effects that only serve to mask a predictable plot and cliche-ridden scenes. A paralyzingly dopey mess, Pluto sat on the shelf for more than a year while Warner Bros. tried to inject some life into it. You might as well try to revive a stuffed moose. Go to Full Review James Croot The Post NZ Aug 18, 2022

As for Eddie Murphy – he just looks bored. He's done action and comedy successfully before, but it looks like he got amnesia when he stepped onto this set. Go to Full Review Cory Woodroof 615 Film Jul 17, 2022
One of the worst movies of all time? No way. A middling-yet-relatively-enjoyable sci-fi romp? Why not. Go to Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens Nov 6, 2019

Robert P @Superbad Sep 22, 2026 The Adventures of Pluto Nash = a 1/2 star Movie! See more Lunar A. @DoritosBag420 Feb 6, 2026 One time, I gave Buzz Lightyear, Mario, Luigi, Finn, and Steve tickets to see this movie. Then I shot Buzz and saw my babies in the snack section. After that, I started the movie and Eddie Murphy shot them all with an RPG. It was amazing I will say. See more R.I.S T @R.I.S Jan 4, 2026 Possibly one of THE films of all time My favourite part was when Eddie Murphy showed up from the screen and shot me with an RPG See more Lay L @Unicorn1650 Dec 28, 2025 I thought it was a cute fifth element type of movie everyone tries to say it’s a bad movie but I think it’s futuristic especially the body change scene cus that’s all that’s happening in 2025 lol I will say the end is a little confusing tho See more Spy C @RT39724904 Sep 13, 2025 I watched this movie with Fin from Adventure Time, Mario from the hit Nintendo series of the same name, Minecraft Steve, Buzz Lightyear, & Luigi from Mario. The staff member that happened to vend my ticket was a rather large (human sized) anthropomorphic bag of cheese Doritos. It was quite the experience & I cannot recommend it enough to anyone with a working frontal lobe.
