While not terribly original, "And Soon the Darkness" is an entertaining film that, within genre confines, delivers exactly what it promises-tension, suspense, and a story that catches and holds your attention throughout. Go to Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Combustible Celluloid Jan 21, 2011
All of which is to say that this new movie just isn't all that surprising or involving. Go to Full Review Scott Weinberg FEARnet Jan 9, 2011

Girls get tortured in a foreign country. It's competently made, but we've seen it all before. Go to Full Review Jason McKiernan Filmcritic.com Dec 16, 2010

it's a bad sign when one's chief compliments are based around the idea that a movie isn't as bad as it could've been. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

Jay L @Jay.Livin Sep 15, 2026 This is a good mystery/thriller movie, the beginning started off a bit slower than I expected but I think the slow burn was a good choice for the build up of the storyline and ending of the movie. See more John W @RT18279564 Jul 31, 2025 It is so forgettable. Not really bad but not much happens in terms of plot. It is so slowly paced with many landscape views. You can watch that movie to fall asleep that's how it's used to probably. See more Dennis B @TreasureHunt May 2, 2025 It's a good late night stream. The buildup is slow, but the final 20-30 minutes are worth it. I thought it was odd that the most probable suspect actually is the guilty party. However, a nice twist is thrown in for good measure. I liked it. Some great scenery and eye candy from the leads make the plot inadequacies forgettable. See more me m @No-one666 Jan 8, 2025 A story about 2 stupid thots who deserved to have bad things happen to them. I watched the movie just hoping to see them tortured and killed for their stupidity and arrogance. See more Jelisije J @jjosifovic Oct 10, 2024 2 young women decide to travel to South America alone and low and behold we got a kidnapping movie. No true engaging story with no true memorable characters. The biggest sin for this movie is that its forgettable. See more Jun 26, 2022 Oh my god, I've seen some bad Amber Heard movies but this one is the worst. the only thing good for Odette Yustman, who is super, super hot, but other than that, this is the stupid, dumbest movie I've ever seen. Since this is from 2010, had Amber got nude, then this would have been much, much better, but somehow the director/writer/etc thought she should play a good girl, so we were stuck with her acting ability. Barf! This is a horrible movie, and Amber is such a dumb, just plain terrible actor. This is not based on her trial, but on her talent, or lack thereof only. See more Read all reviews
