As Good as It Gets is a romantic comedy for people who find romance deeply inconvenient. Melvin Udall is a walking human disaster with a typewriter, a dog, and approximately zero interest in becoming a better person. Naturally, he meets two people who make that impossible. Jack Nicholson is spectacularly awful in exactly the way that makes you keep watching, while Helen Hunt and Greg Kinnear give him the kind of reality check he desperately deserves. The movie is funny, prickly, surprisingly tender, and packed with lines you want to steal immediately. It’s about love, friendship, and the terrifying possibility that even the biggest asshole in the room might still have a heart somewhere underneath all that damage.

If you are going to do a romcom, do it like this. Not really my kind of movie, but it is so well done it is hard to stop watching. Two (or 3 maybe) damaged people get together to make their lives better. It is funny and distressing and all the things you had hoped for in a modern day romance. My main knock here is, yeah he is Jack Nicholson, but by all that is good out there the guy is way too old for her... I was thinking maybe he should get together with the mother.

Filme mais ou menos, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são mais ou menos, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom, e as atuações do Jack nicholson e da helen hunt salvaram o filme.
