Neil S @Bluethrunthru Aug 18 I was really hopeful that this film would explore multiple layers of conspiracy theory and grief, cannot tell you how disappointed I was. Lena Headey gave a competent performance without really engaging me and providing some realistic insight, I think the script, meandering story and the overall lack of edge was more to blame. The rest of the cast again constrained by the above points came across as wooden, confused and genuinely adding so little to the storyline at times. Although young, his wife Diana (Amybeth McNulty) is pregnant and near delivery. Out of the blue, Nance is informed that her son died in Afghanistan and her world falls apart. She secretly removes the bullet that killed Jesse and finds that it was manufactured in the ammunition factory where she works. Deranged, she accuses the owner of the factory; then the military that informed the death; then the recruiter and the man responsible for the army support group, the Afghan Kahlil Nabizada (Hamza Haq). "Ballistic" (2025) is a disappointing and pointless film about a deranged woman that looks for someone to blame for the death of her beloved son. Lena Headey is attractive and even riveting at times, however even this cannot carry this ssttrreettched script premise. I expected a film about conspiracies or revenge, but instead I found a story about a mother struggling to understand why her son was taken from her, searching for whoever was responsible for his senseless death. The film offers no clear answer, leaving you to grapple with the deeper question of why wars persist and how we continue to endure their endless consequences. See more Blake D @RT55286378 May 2 I absolutely love Lena Headey. I could watch a 2 hour video of her just reading the phone book. The only redeeming feature this movie has is that she's in it. Otherwise, the plot is silly, and her character's arc is implausible. People who work for military contractors understand war. It's the business they're in. People with family members in the military know the risks and understand the consequences. Certainly, most any parent would be wrecked at the death of their son or daughter in action. That's logical. However, a military contractor wouldn't become unhinged, showing a total lack of understanding of the situation and going on some sort of Man On Fire or Straw Dogs revenge tour, against completely innocent characters. Revenge for what? What did these people do? It's a ridiculous premise. By the time you get halfway through the movie, you just hate her character and have no sympathy for what is an unhinged woman.
