On the busiest night of the year at one of the hottest restaurants in London, charismatic, commanding head chef Andy Jones (Stephen Graham) balances along a knife's edge as multiple personal and professional crises threaten to destroy everything he's worked for. A surprise visit from a health and safety inspector sets the staff on edge as the overbooked hotspot begins to fill with guests. Jones alternately berates and cajoles his diverse staff, trying his best to diffuse tensions between management and his crew, while catering to the ridiculous demands of customers.

I couldn't get into this one at all, despite competent direction and first class acting. File squarely under 'Misery Porn'. Christ, it's grim.

Definitely making it to my 4,5 star list. The movie was more tense than 90% of horrors/thirllers wannabes. It's brilliant. As someone who lived and worked in kitchen in UK ... the acting... it was just another level... they should teach it in all acting schools of the world. A must watch. The part of the chief being in debts etc. etc. was a bit cliche but everything else was 100%

It’s a feast of a movie. Technically superb, acting brilliant. An organic non-stop pulsating movie. But…oh boy…as someone who worked in one of the fine dining restaurants in NYC…actually, regardless of the restaurant’s reputation, even if you worked in a Olive Garden you would not bring an opened bottle of wine to the customer who ordered a bottle of wine, which happened at 24th minute of the movie. How was that not corrected by the director? It’s getting even worse. A bottle of white wine served without a wine cooler. A server carrying them with one hand and a bottle of water in other hand. A server who seemed like never serving wine before. And the customer who didn’t send opened wine back and requested - a 101 in wine service - for a wine to be opened in front of him. Too much for me. Can’t continue with this. Although I don’t see how will they get back to five, I hope they can manage it somehow.

From the director who brought us "Adolescence", this film is yet another one-shot, well-made endeavor. Stephen Graham proves once again he's a top-notch actor. Excellent supporting cast to boot.
