Sutherland is a strong presence, clearly relishing a return to the action arena of his long-running TV show 24, but his character is frustratingly underwritten and plagued by a script stuffed with clichéd dialogue. Go to Full Review

'Sicario' demonstrated US military versus drug cartels is exciting, but by the time 'Brothers Under Fire' revs up, one’s mind has already left the building. Go to Full Review

Despite some intermittent thrills, the film struggles to generate any meaningful suspense with its thinly sketched characters and narrative predictability. Go to Full Review

Brian F @B1r2i3a4n 21h A strange movie. For an action flick, it spends far too much time getting to the actual action. At times it seems to want to be a drama, although not a particularly compelling one. After an interminable amount of time, we finally get to the climactic shootout. I have never served in the military, but I think I have a better understanding of tactics than these supposed special forces soldiers. They walked into the final battle with the tactical sophistication of a pub quiz team. Their plan appeared to be... erm... a complete lack of any kind of plan. Fortunately, the cannon fodder... I mean cartel soldiers... were even stupider. Hollywood is perfectly capable of making a decent action flick. So why does it keep churning out C-grade ones like this? See more R W @R.w.65 5d Predictable, tactically flawed considering this was supposed to be about hard core soldiers. The last scene is a wee bit off. Gave it a second star for the scenery. See more Ross T @rtterp Aug 22 Waste of time. Just wanted a entertaining get-back-at-the-bad-guy flick. Very little character development, no real use of soldier skills, and kinda sad See more Rob L @Billy2542 Aug 22 Ready? Just be Jack Bauer. See more Zoran P @RT06774066 Aug 8 I can’t remember last time I’ve seen simpler movie. Difference between this movie and a highschool production is that they were allowed to use some basic pyrotechnics in it. That’s all. Who ever wrote the script, never wrote a script before. Nothing made any sense. Stevie was exaggerated. No cartel member walks into a wedding and shoots someone alone. The cartel mobilized "everyone" - which made up 3 pickups in total. Smallest cartel on the planet? Couldn’t they pay the statists? In final showdown there were hundreds of dead bad guys. Where did they spawn from? Cell-splitting? Dialogues made no sense. And some people call out that Keith’s acting bumped up the movie? What acting? It’s a disaster. See more R. H @RT88443378 Aug 3 Handsome cast, but very predictable outcome. Nothing too original.
