While successful as a filmmaking challenge to film a horror movie in one take, "Bury the Devil" does not add much to the possession subgenre of horror except a mean-spirited twist, which is insufficient to retroactively distinguish it from others.

[Works] overtime to deliver a spooky carnival ride of a film in one stitched-together "take"... [But] Bury the Devil falls into the same trap as so many before it: beyond this formal hook, it has little else going for it.

The story’s not quite all the way there, and the camera work sometimes devolves into the needlessly frenetic, but this is still a remarkably tense, brutal piece of work that goes for the throat and, despite loosening its grip now and then, never lets go.

Really good film. I loved the atmosphere and lighting. Majority of the acting was great and the story was excellent. Great special fx, the soundtrack was fantastic and it was shot really well.

I really enjoyed this film. The pacing was great and the actors really sold it.....and the whole shot in one take thing is always impressive and really added to the intensity. Thought it was a really unique take on a possession movie. What a year for unique/original takes on horror movies. Definitely make the effort to see this!!!

It’s a watchable, occasionally tense night of horror that benefits from its short runtime and formal experiment, yet it never quite transcends the "promising but familiar" category. Worth a watch if you’re curious about the one shot approach or need a quick, no frills demonic fix—just don’t expect it to stick with you.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. One long camera shot. There are so many movies/TV shows doing that already, so it is not THAT impressive anymore. Well,... not really. I think there's some stitching here and there. It DOES give a creepy vibe in the beginning. The surround sound is quite good with all the thudding and creaking behind you (if you have a surround sound system). Then, you realise that the movie is just that. Creaking and thudding,.. then going up and down the stairs. Then "Is that you?" a few times. Oh god,... it's boring. Only the last few minutes more exciting things start to happen, but then, you have already made up your mind that you're not going to like the movie. Please do watch it you have time to waste. I'm going to watch Stickman's Hollow after this. So, let's see if it can make up to my loss time.
