Critics Consensus

Its puerile premise invites low expectations, but viewers who sit down in search of boldly humorous provocations won't leave Butt Boy brokenhearted.

It touches on addiction, compulsion, career emptiness and, at its heart, loneliness...

Instead of a gross-out gag fest, Butt Boy is a surprisingly tender bizarro comedy that works because it plays the strangeness straight.

If your sense of humor favors stupid ideas done smartly... "Butt Boy" offers pleasures that aren't even all that guilt-inducing.

Butt Boy is an incredibly funny movie by writer/director/lead actor Tyler Conack came up with. It’s deadpan delivery and serious tone lend such an air of sophistication to such an incredibly absurd premise that all you can do is laugh.

So committed to playing its absurd premise completely straight that it actually works on its own terms, never once feeling like a so bad its good guilty pleasure.

This is a police-procedural deadpan horror-comedy that aims to scratch every itch that it can. This is an imaginative and surreal dive into the subconscious, and you can handle it.

The assimilation of drama, horror, and comedy is a LOAD of fun, BUT there are aspects of it that made me lose my SH*T. This movie is a real kick in the rear. It’s really DEEP. The director isn’t just FARTing around. A movie that’s easy to get BEHIND. The story really SUCKS you in. It’ll BUTTer your bread. Production ASSistants obviously worked hard. Movie starts as a caterpillar and blossoms into a beautiful BUTTerfly.

I love it when people take seriously and do great top notch job on a film with such a ridiculous idea. Very creative funny and weird. I liked all the actors too.

Great movie! The acting was terrific. Everyone really sold it. Especially considering the hilarious premise but the characters were really believable. Really enjoyed this film.
