Jul 2, 2011 Not a bad movie, but I expected some more horror elements. I also think the acting was a bit too overdone, even for '34. All in all an enjoyable movie See more

Feb 2, 2011 A mulatto woman seeks out her origin and is taken to a house in the middle of a swamp where she was told she was raised. She really doesnt like the fact that she is Black. She has a White male suitor who fights a Black gang and wrestles an alligator to save her. Her mother, a voodoo practicioner, hates White folk with a passion, so she even tries to kill her half-White daughter. Some GREAT lines in this one! See more

Oct 8, 2010 Well, I don't know about Flixster's saying this movie is from 1929, the dvd said 34 and so does IMDB. Anyway, this movie wasn't as bad as I expected, although it wasn't a great movie it did have an alright story until it started to get crazy towards the end with all the voodoo rituals. If it wasn't for that it could have been a decent movie. See more

Jun 28, 2008 What a strange little film, very unique and different, especially for the early 1930's. It is low budget and it shows, but it's offbeat enough to spark some interest. See more
