Every year, three friends take a vacation away from their wives. This year, henpecked Phil (Daniel Stern), newly married Ed (Bruno Kirby), and Mitch (Billy Crystal) -- terrified of his midlife crisis -- decide to reignite their masculinity by taking a supervised cattle drive across the Southwest. Critics Consensus

With a supremely talented cast and just enough midlife drama to add weight to its wildly silly overtones, City Slickers uses universal themes to earn big laughs.

The funny sequences and dumb jokes in "City Slickers" are so much more entertaining than the male-bonding blather that you wonder what the filmmakers had in mind.

There are a few amusing moments, provided largely by Jack Palance as a Marlboro Man type, but most of the comedy is a blend of silly slapstick and pallid pop psychology.

There are surprising plots twists that work despite the change of tone.

City Slickers is very funny and at times, sometimes moving and occasionally very well photographed indeed.

This is a really funny comedy which I recommend the opening sequence with the bull it’s just hilarious the opening credits of the film Heart back to Blake Edwards pink Panther with the use of animation which I think is really funny and really clever. Billy Crystal he’s just a genius. The film is clever original and enables Billy Crystal to demonstrate his slapstick comedic style. Well there was a second film I feel that it lacked the magic and originality that this first one delivered even now years later it still remains a great comedy. A great comedy can only be success from its writing directing and ensemble cast. The reason that this film remains funny and some might say a classic is because of those very reasons good cast good directing an altogether a very very funny film enjoy

See kids, he just said 'heelllloo'! It's corny, it feels dumb, and it's brilliant as a result! Kindhearted, easy going comedy

Great fun to watch. Kid friendly and very entertaining. Just good old fashioned innocent fun. Sometimes silly, hilarious and witty wisecracks. Colorful characters and interesting story. Whole cast really excels in character. Great cinematography and nicely brought to screen. Memorable and highly recommended
