Paul S @PManRager 3d Watching this in the post-COVID era makes this movie all the more terrifying. I felt as if I was watching a real catastrophe unfold, and every cough filled me with dread. Besides the movie's realism, the story was intriguing, the all-star cast gave amazing performances, and I was glued to the screen for the entire movie. See more Lyle M @RT74894011 Jul 15 It’s a very disjointed/choppy movie. The performances are fine, but the disjointedness really doesn’t allow the viewer to really care about any of the characters. See more John C. @cyclone259 Jun 15 Having watched this recently in 2026, it’s eerie how this movie predicted many of the variables in the pandemic, 8 years BEFORE Covid-19… my guess is that’s because human nature / reactions to disaster stays pretty consistent and even in 2011, there were countless unfiltered conspiracy theorists running around. That’s the high point of this film; the rest is stupidly mediocre. For a thriller, it’s not thrilling and although it was overflowing with (at the time) A and B+ level actors, they just seemed to phone in their performances. The story meandered around, never really focusing much on anything or any character. Gwenyth Paltrow was in there for maybe 5 minutes in total and relegated to a cameo role and flashbacks; a total waste of her talent. Kate Winslet, also a great actress, conveys her dialogue like she’s reading from a menu at the Cheesecake Factory. Matt Damon gives the most meh performance of his life.
