Critics Consensus

It never lives up to the first part of its title, but Crazy, Stupid, Love's unabashed sweetness -- and its terrifically talented cast -- more than make up for its flaws.

[Crazy, Stupid, Love] somehow manages to capture everything that’s great about and wrong with the romantic comedy genre in just 118 minutes.

B-

Despite some shaky plotting, the Carell and Gosling duo is an engaging watch and the two have their own special brand of chemistry that keeps the film going, even when things feel just ludicrous enough to be distracting.

The acting is universally excellent, and during the majority of the film's running time what's taking place is almost too glorious for words.

It's incredibly fresh, funny, emotional, daring, and, for a romantic "dramedy," has more jaw-dropping twists than big budget thrillers.

Crazy, Stupid, Love isn't just about one couple; rather, it's an exploration about the nature of dating, coming together, and relationship expiration dates in general.

What I like best about Crazy, Stupid, Love. is the structure, and how seemingly frivolous subplots come together and inform the others in crucial ways during a hilarious screwball climax.

This is such a great movie. So many different feels all throughout. You feel for and understand where each character is at. I love the character of Hannah's best friend, Liz. She is the inner voice in all of us.

Tasteless out of date movie. Jacob picks up multiple stunning women a night and is depicted as sophisticated and smooth. The women, who seem to drink the same bar can’t get enough him, dropping their panties after one drink. I hope he showers in between! We got halfway through and turned it off, utter rubbish, playing into absurd male fantasies.

A delightful comedy about a man trying to cope with a recent divorce, who seeks the help of a pick-up artist to regain the confidence to approach women. Full of twists and turns, the film offers both amusing moments and opportunities for reflection on the male condition, love, and the experience of losing someone—as well as losing a part of oneself.

An old-fashioned crowd pleaser with a modern wit and a cast that’s firing on all cylinders. It’s a little over-plotted and it's sentimentality goes down easily, but the performances are terrific and the laughs are real.

It is such a crap movie. Even a wonderful acting of Steve Carell does not save it. I do not understand anyone claiming it’s over 6/10 in rating. It’s obnoxious and filled only with tasteless dad jokes. Does not deserve your time. Any other comedy should be better plan for your evening instead, trust me.
