MarGaret W @FilmVersusMovie 21h DARK HOLLOW's Strong suits are in it's Acting/Drama in the 1st Half of the Film, and the Cinematography, Sound & Production design. The acting remains mostly good throughout, but ironically, The Creature/Dark Force is underdeveloped & isn't fleshed out enough for us to care, and ironically, what's really dragging down it down in the end. (Bonus Comment: Monster's Head look Gooify) See more C B @RT03025588 1d Probably based on a old Appalachian legend, although I have no proof. The first 40 minutes could have been compressed into 10 minutes- a dull drama about a company trying to buy up land in order to mine coal, and there is hardly any hint of a subterranean creature somehow behind it all, pulling the strings. In the last half, the monster reveals it's presence and a lackluster battle ensues, shot in almost complete darkness. If they made this film campy and humorous, I think it would have been better.
