Dr. Paul Kersey is a surgeon who often sees the consequences of the city's violence in the emergency room. When home intruders brutally attack his wife and young daughter, Kersey becomes obsessed with delivering vigilante justice to the perpetrators. Critics Consensus

Death Wish is little more than a rote retelling that lacks the grit and conviction of the original -- and also suffers from spectacularly bad timing.

The street violence is staged with such disgusting levity that any attempt at thematic complexity seems purely for show.

While Death Wish doubles as a commercial for the gun lobby, its alt-right posturing is undermined by its uneven, head-scratching tone.

This is a film too embarrassed to be what it is. And shorn of capes and costumes, vigilantism is pretty ugly.

The wildly miscalculated release of this film is only matched by its mindless aggression.

A morose and uneventful by-the-numbers remake that doesn't go nearly as far as it needs to.

The good news: Despite all the worries that this would be nothing more than an alt-right wet dream in which Bruce Willis guns down scores of blacks and Muslims, the film is actually restrained in such matters. The bad news: It still isn't very good.

Entertaining, and a good film for Bruce especially in light of his unfortunate health diagnosis. God Bless Bruce!

These Rotten tomatoes p😺 couldn't say what a good movie is even if their lives depended on it. Awesome movie, not a single boring part and very satisfying. I can't even remember ONE movie where their rating was nearly accurate, it's a must watch of you disnt see it.. 10/10

another good example,on how not to care at all for these brain rotted critics.like most people already said here feels a bit rushed, bruce willis at this age was already giving half of what he once was but still a decent average movie, definitely not 17% like these idiots say.

A few good additions, like the fact that now the protagonist is a doctor instead of an architect, that made more sense with the entire story. But for the rest, nothing really special in my opinion. It's more gore (more violence), but less sexual than the original. Overall, I didn't feel the need for this remake, personally.
