Steve (Matthew Broderick), suburban dad and Christmas enthusiast, finds a wrinkle in his well-ordered existence with the arrival of his new neighbor Danny (Danny DeVito). Danny has big dreams and plans to illuminate his house with enough holiday lights to make it visible from space. Not to be outdone, Steve declares a war of one-upmanship with Danny that threatens to drag the Christmas spirit through the slush.

What's interesting about typical Hollywood Christmas movies is that regardless of how crass, vulgar, or mean-spirited they may be, by the last scene they will inevitably try to wrap viewers in a blanket of warm seasonal cheer.

Still as thin as an advent calendar, as dry and overcooked as most Christmas roasts and with jokes even lamer than you'll find in a cracker, 15 years on, Deck has truly cemented its place as one of the all-time festive Hollywood turkeys.

This movie is terrible. The whole family including two teenage put this on the never watch again list. How do you screw up a movie that stars Danny Devito this badly? Avoid at all costs

"Deck the Halls" aspires to be "Christmas Vacation," but only very rarely comes close. Danny DeVito's talent is completely wasted. Matthew Broderick is about as expressive as a blank white wall. The dialogue is terrible. But I did manage a few laughs.
