If its ambitions never quite meet its execution, “Disfluency” is (clunky title aside) an amiable watch with its heart (and head) in the right place that still manages to charm, perhaps because it so exalts the very concept of imperfection.

It’s a testament to “Disfluency”‘s ultimate affect, and the lead performances, that it can successfully overcome the preachiness of Baumgarten’s script.

Disfluency is a worthy enough entry into the long-running coming-of-age genre, though it fails to rise above the tropes and expected arcs that come with these types of films.

This very powerful movie speaks to several pertinent themes in the lives of today's young adults. Overlaying those with the concept of how language plays a part in communication beyond just actual words was eye-opening. This is a must see for anyone in education, psychology, social services or those who just love being a student of life.

An essential coming of age summer movie with a dramatic twist that separates it from the rest. Thought-provoking and powerful, thanks largely to a fantastic cast and great direction from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Loved the movie. Great acting, important storyline. Movie had a serious storyline, but still managed to be fun. Loved the relationship between the Father and the Daughter. Also loved the storyline with the daughter and the college aged Mom with the little boy.
