At times this film has the eager, sincere quality of a student play: excitable theatre kids giving it their all. But when heavier dramatic lifting is required, it falls short. Go to Full Review

By focusing on life and its messiness instead of looming death, Hart’s film earns the emotion other cancer dramas take for granted. Go to Full Review

Sandler is sweetly attuned to Sophie, a sometimes tentative teenager. And Lynskey strikes a believable balance as both a fighter and a woman tired of the fight. Go to Full Review

Don’t Say Good Luck combines movie-musical structure with teen-movie richness. It succeeds where the miserable mixed-genre construct of La La Land failed. Go to Full Review

What truly stays with you about Don't Say Good Luck is its quiet charm. It doesn't force tears. It truly earns them naturally through gentle humour and lived-in family interactions. Go to Full Review

Sam A @JustSammy 9h It reuses a lot of tropes and plot point from other movies, but it meshes them together well with its script and performances to make something quite refreshing in this day and age of Hollywood. See more Anna S @Annabandana5150 16h Not my kind of comedy, I wish they would score these movies better. See more Shun L @RT20303811 1d Wasn’t expecting much. But it is a beautiful movie and I cried a bit at end! Worth my time. See more Maria Q @MariaQe 1d Don’t Say Good Luck is the kind of movie that grabs you by the collar, gives you a slightly unhinged pep talk, and then politely asks why you’re still sitting there. It’s funny, charming, and packed with characters who seem to have wandered in from completely different movies, and that’s exactly what makes it work. The dialogue has a wonderfully off-kilter rhythm, the situations keep getting more ridiculous, and there’s a mischievous energy running underneath the whole thing. You laugh, you wince, you wonder where the hell this is going, and then realize you’re having a really good time getting there. A scrappy, funny little movie with personality to spare. Just don’t say good luck. Apparently, we know what happens when you do. See more Sara M @Sarix 3d So I came to the conclusion to not judge a book, or in this case a movie, by its cover aka title. I recommend you watch it, 10/10. Just so you know, you’ll bawl your eyes out by the end of it. Break a leg!
