Ray Pluto (Denis Leary) has many problems. He is satirized in the tabloids as the "loser cop." His partner (Steve Buscemi) is starting to seem suspiciously attracted to him. A pair of screenwriters (Donald Faison, Keith Nobbs) across the hall keep bugging him for help. The superintendent of his building (Luis Guzmán) is stabbed by hoodlums hired by his own rebellious daughter (Melonie Diaz). To top it off, a sexually aggressive chiropractor (Elizabeth Hurley) may just be Ray's undoing.

"Hasta Luego" "Hasta Mañana" See more Louise C Dec 30 I enjoyed this film, due to the humour, and how Denis Leary plays his miserable character. So many viewers criticise this ilk, but a few of us appreciate what the director is aiming at. Probably I understand what I see on screen better, due to my passion for reading about something I enjoyed. Tom DiCillo said - QUOTE - the film was "in reaction to some of the ways people had responded to my films. When the lieutenant says at the beginning, 'Do I have your attention now?,' that's me asking, 'Is that what it takes to get your attention, to have some guy walk into a burger joint and blow people away? Is that what it takes?' I don't see this as just a cop movie. It's about how our emotional life can keep us from seeing things." Wikipedia. Elizabeth Hurley costars as his chiropractor/love interest. Steve Buscemi, Luis Guzman and Chris Noth provide support. This is a decent comedy/drama. Probably gave it an extra half star because of how much I love Elizabeth Hurley, but it's decent and rides the fence of quirky.
