A Persian Gulf dictator, Tufuti (Ivan Lucas), invades the country of Karifistan, subsequently plunging the United States into war. America's best soldiers respond to the call of duty. And so does good-natured bumbling yokel Ernest P. Worrell (Jim Varney). However, Ernest is anything but a conventional soldier, and he causes major military havoc. But he finds that he can help when he befriends a lost boy (Christo Davids) from Karifistan during the war.

Is this Ernest 17 or 18? Matters not, since they are all Jim Varney the same. Go to Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com Oct 7, 2005

Rich S @RPS1963 May 25, 2021 The last Ernest film was not the worst Ernest film. His films had a place in the movie industry, but that place was nowhere near the top shelf. See more steve d @RT35616104 Jul 5, 2020 Those who enjoy the series will find a lot to like. See more Jul 29, 2019 Ernest's last hurrah is amusing enough, but not one of the better movies in the series. See more Nov 20, 2016 Not a bad Ernest movie See more Apr 23, 2015 There are some funny moments (mostly when Ernest imagines himself as an Army sergeant or, in my favorite sequence, as Lawrence of Arabia), but the last film in the "Ernest" series is by all means the least. It's a shame though, since Jim Varney passed away 2 years after this film's completion. He was a talented man, a Disney legend, and contributed a character loved by some, hated by others, but remembered by all, to popular culture. He made a mark in his short 50 years on Earth. We'll never see another one like him. KnowhutImean, Vern? See more Read all reviews
