Whenever the film leans into chaos, it works, the action is intense, well choreographed, with sharp camera work. But the second it slows down, it loses steam. The dialogue feels thin, the emotional beats don’t land, and the film oddly feels empty in its quieter moments. Great action, just not a fully satisfying film. What Worked: Hargrave’s “one-take” tracking shot traps you right in the chaos. Hemsworth brings real, battered weight to Tyler. Through my Methodist faith lens, a broken man sacrificing himself to protect a vulnerable kid beautifully echoes my beliefs on grace and laying down our lives for others. The Cuts: The script just bridges massive action moments, so momentum stalls out when the action stop; it's simply spinning its wheels with thin dialogue. Cartoonish villains rob the film of real conflict. Keeping it spoiler-free, the ambiguous ending feels like a massive cop-out to build a franchise rather than give a solid wrap-up. Verdict: Visually incredible, but lacks narrative depth. Fun for top-tier stunts, skip if you need a tight story. Extraction is one of the best action movies I’ve ever seen, maybe even the best. What makes it stand out is how engaging it is from start to finish. There’s constant, intense action, and I was never bored for a second. Usually, I’ve seen some people say the main character kills too many soldiers and policemen who are just following orders, all to save one person. That’s a fair point, but at the same time, this is a pure action movie. Not every film needs to focus on morality or realism. Sometimes, it’s enough to deliver non-stop action, and this movie does that extremely well. Chris Hemsworth was excellent. I already liked him as Thor, but this movie made me a real fan. Seeing him outside Marvel and still carrying the film so strongly was impressive. Overall, if you enjoy fast-paced, non-stop action, this movie is definitely worth watching. 10/10 from me.
