Sep 21, 2019 1453 is quite an interesting spectacle given it's comparatively small budget by international standards. However, it should only be seen as a purely Turkish movie for local consumption. The historical facts are glossed over - the Byzantines are depicted as living in luxurious surroundings whereas the reality is they were completely broke, internationally friendless and the City was only a shell of its former glory. The movie shows no perspective at all from the opposing point of view which is fair enough as the Ottomans did win - but it was hardly an even contest. Finally, the last scene where Mehmet II enters the Hagia Sophia and displays compassion to the terrified civilians is at odds with the truth. There are well documented accounts that anybody of any importance was slaughtered and the rest were sent off to slavery. The Byzantines were certainly not angels in regards to their previous behaviour but 1453 is just a nationalistic bit of propaganda. See more

Sep 17, 2019 Worst movie in the history! Some groups of Turkish barbarian can be the heroes? Such thing can happen only in the movie not in reality! See more

Jan 1, 2019 Pure propaganda. There are so many historical inaccuracies in this movie, it's unbelievable. The movie tries too hard to portray Mehmed II as a good guy, but if you read any book about the topic, you will see the complete opposite of what the movie portrays. See more

Jul 25, 2017 This movie is nothing more than Turkish propaganda. Make Constantinople great again! See more
