Bobby L @BobbyInLA May 24, 2025 I enjoy watching films that tells a fantastical mythological tale. “Fighting Olympus” is compelling and imaginative, and filled with unexpected plot twists that keeps the audience captivated. Being a huge fan of Greek Mythology, I love seeing Hades, Zeus, Athena, and Medusa in action in the realm of the Gods. Leslie Jones shines as Rucker, a tough and compassionate ex-cop determined to find his kidnapped brother, Biddle (Devinair Mathis) and enters the lion’s den - a ruthless cult based on the Greek pantheon. The ensemble cast was game, and made this distopian world interesting. The set design of this film is impressive. This movie has tons of characters and plenty of action. Directed, written and produced by Julian Hampton, who managed to made the movie look big and cinematic, with wonderfully choreographed fight scenes. If you are looking for an entertaining film that will take you to another realm, look no further. See more
Dick M @RT46112811 Mar 26, 2025 I liked this film. For a low budget independent, it had incredible sets and production values. But the story was what kept me intrigued. At first, it looked like a standard cop drama, terrorist story, but then it took a turn into a cult world that was unexpected. I don't want to give spoilers, but if you are looking for something different, give it a watch. There is a bit of exposition to explain the unusual nature of the place, but I don't think it was needed. Let the viewer figure it out on their own and leave more mystery in it. Haley Jackson is gorgeous, and Corey Roberts is one very scary dude. Very rarely do I watch a film and look up the actors in it. Like to see them in other productions. See more
Jerome V @Jeromevalverde Feb 29, 2024 "Fighting Olympus" literally takes us on a journey to the underworld of Hades, where gods and demons control the fate of humanity. This movie has a cool urban vibe to it throughout. The underworld being an extension of that. Hades, Athena, Medusa, Persephone, Poseidon, Apollo - all your favorite Greek gods are here. Some decent fight scenes and choreography. Kudos to hair, makeup and the costume designer for creating a unique setting for the movie. Definitely worth watching. See more

Gabriel G @3thingsaboutit Jun 17, 2023 Writer/Director Julian Hamptons thriller is far more than what it seems to be. Yes, the cinematography, Choreography, and locations are all excellent. The acting is very good, especially that of Leslie A. Jones and the girl that plays medusa. The relationship between the character of Rucker and his brother was realistic and the chemistry was palpable. Yes, this film has a lot of good qualities but the one thing that kept me hooked was that Julian created an underworld that paralleled that of Greek Mythology, featuring characters as Athena, Medusa, Ares, and Hades; That was a breath of fresh air! Creating content that studios haven't conceived is what indie filmmaking is all about. This film is more than just another action thriller. The depth of the world created kept me hooked till the very end. Highly recommend. See more
Kris Y @RT94786236 Jun 4, 2023 Looking at the poster and reading the description for Fighting Olympus made me figure this is a movie that my partner is going to enjoy more than me. Oh, was I wrong. This movie is not just a shoot 'em up action type feature (which it does well by the way). The story line is imaginative and involved and full of twists and turns I was not expecting. I won't give spoilers or plot twists but I liked the way the writer pointed to characters from ancient greek myths like Hades, Athena and Medusa. The actress who played Medusa was AMAZING in the role. She is perfect as the disfigured woman out for revenge. Lastly, I must give a big shout out to the stunt/choreography people. The hand-to-hand combat scenes are exciting and a lot of work must have gone into those fight scenes. Two thumbs up!! See more
