The second entry in the long-running horror series focuses on a group of teenage would-be counselors converging on Camp Crystal Lake for training under the tutelage of head counselor Paul (John Furey). Inevitably, Paul relates the story of Jason Voorhees (Warrington Gillette), a boy who ostensibly drowned at the camp and whose mother murdered a group of counselors in revenge. No one takes the tale seriously until a very much alive Jason begins gruesomely eliminating people.

Kids' Socks Got to Be Moist Dude really should have put that Neanderthal mask on his face and gotten rid of the potato sack. This movie spends 25 minutes recapping Part 1 before giving us the same "cut away before the kill" nonsense. I'm making fun of the recap, but I actually kind of like it. I do like that they expand Jason's lore. The mysterious cabin and its payoff were highlights. I also like finally seeing Jason in the shots instead of mostly experiencing him through first person perspective like the first movie. As for the plot, there really isn't one. There's a camp next to Crystal Lake and Jason attacks them. Do we need an elaborate story? No. Are the characters interesting? Not really. But they could have put in more effort. The ending is great, but the movie isn't more violent than the first, and the characters stink. There is definitely more sex and nudity, though. And why does this dude only have one eye hole in the sack? Jason is Jason, but this one is just meh.

Synopsis
