We sit back and wait for the laughs. Which come pretty slow and infrequent, though Carell does his straight-faced best to act out the A-Z of Hilarious.

Like a younger, more rigorous version of Leslie Nielsen in his Naked Gun prime, Carell demonstrated here why he had, at the time, a reputation as the funniest man in America.

Packed with enough fun to keep me entertained throughout, with no dull moments. Steve Carell was effortlessly hilarious as always, Anne Hathaway brought the action and charm, and together they shared a sweet chemistry. Honestly, what more do you need from a breezy entertainer?!

Anne Hathaway steals every scene as the sexy and hilarious spy 99 opposite Steve Carell’s stupid spy. Director Peter Segal’s spy comedy Get Smart (2008) has aged well as a fast paced and ridiculous spoof. Segal’s direction is very sleek like many 2000’s comedies like Johnny English or The Tuxedo. It is way funnier than I recalled. Steve Carell is basically just doing his Office character Michael Scott as a spy for Get Smart’s idiot unlikely hero Maxwell Smart. Anne Hathaway is ludicrously hot, effortlessly hilarious, and super cool as the skilled spy Agent 99. Hathaway’s unimpressed heroine works wonders opposite Carell’s goofy new field agent. Her experienced, prepared, and violent agent is awesome. Anne Hathaway is amazing in Get Smart and easily steals all of her scenes. Her gradually befriending Max is quite entertaining. In all, Anne Hathaway and Steve Carell are fabulous in this now underrated spy comedy.

Michael Scarn finally got his movie! A great mix between Mr. Bean and Spy Kids. I haven't yet to see the original but hoped it paid homage!
