May 25, 2017 There is no doubt this NZ Film features very little great acting or a complicated plot but it goes to show when your film is based on downright fun it can still work. The story of petty criminal who hires a mini illegally in Wellington then goes on a Rip Roaring trip through NZ with middle aged John who recently got dumped by his girlfriend. Fun, dodgy & imperfect film but a great adventure buddy road movie that simply works & I'm not sure why. See more

Dec 2, 2013 This movie has a lot going for it: compelling emotional character development, lightheartedness and understated humour, desperation, ordinariness, great personality, the road trip, the scenery, and of course, the seventies! It's unpretentious, straightforward storytelling with great car chases, crazy capers, memorable dialogue, punchlines, a darker side, an interesting poke at both convention and anarchy and an explosive finale.
