See more Brent H @BrentMHinson Jan 10 As far as sequels go, this one does exactly what it needed to do: advance the storyline, add character development, and wrap everything up nicely. The fact that, after a six-year hiatus between films, the bulk of the main characters returned, including the mighty Liev Schreiber, is a testament to how well the first movie was received in 2011. With Jay Baruchel stepping in as director for this film, unfortunately, we don’t get to see as much of his standout performance as "Pat." Alison Pill, as Eva, delivers an incredible shift in performance as her character evolves from who she was in the first film to where she finds herself in the sequel, in a way entirely relatable to the audience. And, if you can go from being known as someone as detestable as Stifler to a lovable character like Doug Glatt, then you deserve high praise. Seann William Scott certainly achieves that accolade in both films. There are larger movie franchises that couldn't pull off a sequel of this quality. Get past the over the top crude language and gratuitous violence it will keep you interested and not let you down.
