Dr. Don Shirley is a world-class African-American pianist who's about to embark on a concert tour in the Deep South in 1962. In need of a driver and protection, Shirley recruits Tony Lip, a tough-talking bouncer from an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx. Despite their differences, the two men soon develop an unexpected bond while confronting racism and danger in an era of segregation.

Green Book takes audiences on an excessively smooth ride through bumpy subject matter, although Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen's performances add necessary depth.

This film is very good and it's based on a true story, it tell a very good story of two unknown people who become best friends. The story of them is very touching. On the one hand it's a good film,we were able to witness a beautiful friendship forming and good people who defend black people of the racism but on the other hand we saw a very bad part of the USA for black people in the 60's. In m'y opinion it a very good film and I hightly recommend it.

Very good movie, good character development and it all seemed very sincere. Every actor played their part perfectly, this simply wasn't the movie for me. Don't get me wrong, it was insightful, respectful (in some cases) though in sad ways, accurate. This film more likely deserves a 3.5-4 stars but I simply can't do it. Maybe it's that I was sick when watching or maybe it simply didn't 'click' with me, anyway this movie is worth watching, though, maybe not a family movie night.

Under the umbrella of racism, prejudice, and intolerance, Green Book tells the story of two completely different people, inside and out, who struggle to learn, understand, and connect with each other after being forced by circumstances to live together for several weeks. It is the story, as Captain Renault would say in Casablanca, of "the beginning of a beautiful friendship" born from the clash of two worlds, a story brought to life by the actors and the film's production team.
