ChrisCSH H @RT12343453 Oct 25, 2026 Happy death day 2 U is such a fun movie and it goes neck and neck with the original. The film centers around the amazing performance from Jessica Rothe, she’s able to carry the film through the wacky shenanigans to make one entertaining film. See more Daniel V @RT23099562 Oct 18, 2026 Not terribly original for sure. And not as entertaining as the first one. But it’s certainly not terrible, though it could be 10-15 minutes shorter. The best thing about this movie is Jessica Rothe. She is perfect for the role, and makes this average flic a watchable one. See more Nolan M @vyzee Oct 12, 2026 Slightly disappointing, but mostly entertaining despite its choppy pacing. See more TheMovieSearch R @TheMovieSearch Oct 9, 2026 Happy Death Day 2U is the second installment in a franchise that had potential, but unfortunately, it did not live up to the first movie. The sequel felt lackluster, and the story never developed enough to make the experience as engaging as it could have been. Everything felt slower, and I struggled to find the same excitement that made the original enjoyable. I do not think this sequel was necessarily terrible, but it also felt unnecessary. There were moments when the movie managed to pull things together, but those moments were not consistent enough to keep me fully invested. The character development and storytelling never reached the level I expected, leaving the overall experience feeling flat. Ultimately, Happy Death Day 2U is watchable, but it is not particularly memorable. It does not have the same appeal as the first film, and I can easily see people forgetting they watched it. It is one of those movies you might revisit out of curiosity, only to remember why not See more Nathan J @TribianiRamoray Oct 8, 2026 Rated: 6.8/10 After the first film, I dove in to see how they’d keep the time loop fresh. I like this; ditching the pure slasher vibe for a chaotic sci-fi comedy that mostly works thanks to Rothe’s energy. The Director's Eye (What Worked): • Rothe balances genuine grief with frantic physical comedy while resetting the loop. • Expanding into a multiverse is a fun swing that raises the emotional stakes. • The morbidly hilarious suicide montage turns dark moments into a slapstick reel. The Friction (What Didn't Click for Me): • Leaning hard into quantum physics makes the original’s horror and tension vanish. • The new killer’s identity feels like an afterthought tossed in just to wrap up the action. The Verdict: I like it. Watch for a fun sci-fi comedy. Skip if you want actual scares. See more Alec H @alechbt Oct 4, 2026 The movie delivers exactly what it promises, and it never really promises too much. It balances comedy, sci-fi, thriller, drama, and romance in a way that feels surprisingly smooth and enjoyable. The emotional connection to Tree’s mother, carried over from the first film, was especially meaningful to me and honestly accounts for a big part of my rating. Definitely the kind of movie I’d rewatch multiple times just for the sheer pleasure of it. See more Read all reviews
