Arts movie High Strung has a goofy script and a clichd plot, but the dance sequences and musical performances are memorable, ambitious, and highly enjoyable. Go to Full Review

"High Strung" wears its tired let's-put-on-a-show clichs as if they were neon turquoise leg-warmers. Go to Full Review

Sure, this is all a familiar tune - but it's still catchy. Go to Full Review

As in love with dance as The Red Shoes, this spinning, leaping and quite fun dervish of a film should prove an audience pleaser. Go to Full Review

Lanfranco C @Lanfrancobz 06/01/2023 Let's Dance! It is so nice! See more Ayaa T @RT31176818 05/02/2022 I rewatched this last night for the first time in nearly 5 years, it still enjoyable and sweet as it was when it came out. It's really is a lovely movie! See more 10/01/2021 I would say it's a really gorgeous musical and the performance and emotion it brings out is absolutely stunning …. I wish I could watch it on big screen in a theater … it's an amazingly performed musical .. See more danielle r @RT52036486 10/01/2021 This was actually pretty good! Not sure why I expected it not to be. The acting and plot were decent, but the music and dancing…!!!! Beautiful!! I don't know if they were original for this film, but holy crap they were incredible. I would LOVE to see that production in real life. I also liked how there was a bit of drama, but not too much; the ‘villain' parts were mild. I always hate the part of the movie where the lead has to overcome some giant hurdle, usually involving a bully, and I appreciated that this one wasn't really like that- or at least it wasn't dragged out. It made it easier to watch, somehow. If you like dance movies, I recommend. See more 12/19/2019 The dance scenes can be quite sharp, and Keenan Kampa has a natural talent, but the drama otherwise falls rather flat. See more 12/06/2019 The storyline is absurd and the acting leaves a lot to be desired... but the virtuosic dancing and choreography more than make up for it in this wild mishmash of genres. Only watch if you’re into dancing or genre mixing, (musically), but if you’re part of the target audience - it’s cheesy - but grade-a fromage. See more Read all reviews
