Mar 19, 2019 One of the best musicals ever witnessed. I don't particularly like Sinatra, but the comedic plot works with the musical and the actors -- Jack Haley and Michele Morgan -- are outstanding in their roles. This is much more realistic than say, My Fair Lady, which is not comedic and is wholly unrealistic. This cast of characters can be zany and the comedy works. Many people will love the fact that Sinatra and Borge are in this. This should be regarded as a great comedy musical. Too bad it's not in color. See more

Jun 28, 2013 Frank Sinatra doesn't look all too comfortable playing himself as part of the supporting cast for what is a lackluster musical comedy. See more

Aug 2, 2009 Harmless, likable and lightweight musical based on a Broadway play, this was the first major movie role for singer Frank Sinatra. Some nice songs include "A Lovely Way to Spend an Evening," "Come Out Wherever You Are," "I Saw You First," "I Couldn't Sleep a Wink Last Night" (an Oscar nominee) and "The Music Stopped." Received an Oscar nomination for Best Scoring of a Musical (C. Bakeleinikoff). The kick is seeing up-and-comer Mel Torme in a rare early film role, alongside Sinatra and Dooley Wilson (of "Casablanca" fame). Tin Man Jack Haley gets the star billing, though. See more

Jan 7, 2009 This is a hilarious movie, even if, at times, it is slightly confusing. A very good picture of a love quadrangle, if such an item happens to exist. It's got humor, it's got love, and it's got Sinatra singing as only Sinatra can. See more
