Alain E @AlainE Jun 3, 2025 Unfortunately, this is a true story. A young girl is being raised under suboptimal circumstances. She realizes that something is wrong with her and wants to be treated in a psychiatric hospital. However, she happens to be living in the Czech version of the socialist paradise and there are no beds available. Her daily stress increases exponentially. She has difficulty relating to other people. She perceives that she is being bullied although we don’t see much evidence of this. She eventually decides that her only way out is mass murder. At trial she receives the death penalty as she had requested. Afterwards she continues to be examined by mental disease professionals and it becomes abundantly clear that she is psychotic. She believes that her parents are not her real parents and her real father has a different name and works at the Vatican. She calls herself after her “real “ name. A superior force talks to her twice a week and she has to whisper so she is not getting overheard. All this notwithstanding the people’s party does not cancel her hanging. Very good black and white photography that matches the period of the events. The story is related matter of factly without any melodrama. The protagonist is outstanding. On Tubi. See more

Jan 19, 2018 A masterpiece. It isn't much friendly towards the audience, but once you accept it and start thinking about what you are watching, you'll enjoy a breathtaking view into a life and motivations of a sadist murderer... or is that it really? See more

Nov 4, 2017 Nobody heard her silent scream for help, till raged with revenge! Nowadays, the tactic the terrorists using is to ram a truck into the crowds. Since the automobile revolution, such incidents have been called accidents. But there were some intentional incidents and this is was one of those. If I'm not wrong, this could be the first such event that recorded as early as in the 1973. Olga Hepnarova in her 20s has not had a pleasant life so far. Victim of bullying, family trouble, she left alone to be a loner most of her life. Her sexual life was another obstacle to get along with the society, but she had a decent paying job. And then suddenly, unexpectedly, she unleashes her inner devil. Like I said, what this film based on was simply another crime. But what's happening right now made it to get into the spotlight. Otherwise, I don't think they would have made this film. Yes for nationally, but Internationally, there would have been less interested in it. Now this story is definitely an international level. Everyone would know about Olga. The actress who played that role was good too. The film was black and white. Gives a perfect 70s look. Though a little boring film. The screenplay was not engaging enough. There were too many plain scenes like what we see the art films. They should have highlighted more on the bully and other Olga's struggling life, I mean physically. What I saw was leaning towards the side of the story result. The film is not for everyone, particularly being dull presentation makes people turn it down. Otherwise, it's not bad to ignore. 5/10 See more
