Michael H @Mixhael Aug 6 I, Tonya feels like someone threw a sports movie, a tabloid headline, and a family reunion from hell into a blender, then somehow made it brilliant. It's hilarious, chaotic, and surprisingly heartfelt beneath all the flying insults and spectacularly bad decisions. Every character seems convinced they're the reasonable one, which only makes the ride funnier. By the end, you're laughing, wincing, and wondering how reality ever managed to outdo fiction. The movie understands that every villain is somebody else's daughter, every headline is a paper shredder, and every joke has a mortgage. The brilliance is that everyone gets to tell the truth, which is another way of saying everyone gets to lie with absolute confidence. Memory isn't a witness. It's a publicist with a drinking problem. It's viciously funny because life usually is. Nobody wakes up hoping to become a cautionary tale. They wake up trying to pay bills, impress impossible people, and survive another day without breaking something that won't heal. Underneath the sequins, cigarettes, and spectacularly bad decisions is a bruised little heartbeat refusing to quit. That's the real victory. Not the medals. Not the scandal. It's chaotic, hilarious, and somehow makes you root for people making absolutely terrible decisions. Margot Robbie absolutely crushed it, and the mockumentary style keeps everything entertaining.
