Nov 2, 2017 I can find no reason for anything less than 5 stars. This is not about the filming or direction, editing, or the production. It was listed as a documentary, not a movie. These were not characters, these are real people who have been through tragic circumstances and come out of it to tell their story. It's about the brave soldiers who risked and lost (and are still risking and losing) their lives to try to help those in need. All gave some and some gave all! See more Oct 14, 2017 Interesting characters but the production and editing didn't find a consistent theme or story. There were no moments of awareness by the filmmakers it seemed. See more Jul 30, 2017 Really about what Green Berets are trained to do. See more Jul 15, 2017 Tresha Mabile and Peter Bergen did a fantastic job telling the story of the Horse Soldiers" of 5th SFG(A). This film is a tribute to US Special Operations Forces who immediately answered the nation's call. Some gave the ultimate sacrifice during this set of challenging and dangerous missions, and many from these ODAs are still serving today. I believe that only Tresha and Peter could have told this story in such a dynamic and intimate way. Thank you to the brave men who run into danger, and thank you to the brave journalists who tell their stories despite all odds so that the public can know their sacrifice for our security. This is a special film because in addition to telling the incredible story of 5th Special Forces Group's 100 day campaign partnering with indigenous forces to topple the Taliban government, it also offers the viewer an intimate view of what life is like for Special Operations Forces throughout the phases of war. The camaraderie of the teams and also their families is a story as important as the battlefield campaign. Hats off to Tresha and Peter for telling this story and so eloquently capturing the human story here: Victory, loss, perseverance, grief, resilience and the ability of this community to support each other to overcome adversity. See more Jun 28, 2017 Phenomenal Documentary! Amazing story. Mark Nutsch 26 deployments, what!! You are the man! See more Apr 16, 2017 Forget all the Hollywood nonsense. This is the real operators telling the true story of the 12 weeks following 9/11. Not actors here, and no officer's taking credit for the detachments sent. The personal level and how the 'normal' life scenes are brought to us bridge the gap and show us otherwise unattainable insight into the world of the ultimate Alpha and role model, the Special Forces Operator. Thor has some very big shoes to fill in the Hollywood movie based on Mark's team. Everyone should watch this amazing documentary. A+ See more Read all reviews
