Mandibles finds writer-director Quentin Dupieux off on another thoroughly original flight of fancy that will captivate like-minded audiences while baffling others.

As a portrait of friendship, viewed through the compound eye of a mutant insect, it is multidimensional and rather moving.

What works so well in Mandibles is how it's set up as a basic heist movie, using very familiar elements, so familiar they're almost tired cliches, before going completely off the rails into random demented territory.

Mandibules is a bright and optimistic comedy that vindicates friendship (and stupidity) with a lot of humor and fantastic touches. [Full review in Spanish]

Contrary to what may seem from its surrealist approach and Manu and Jean-Gab's nature, Mandibles results in a feel-good movie about friendship. [Full review in Spanish]

A crowd-pleasing farce thanks to the ever-increasing degree of misunderstandings, hysteria and physical comedy as the two men and a baby fly get in over their heads... best to simply embrace the absurdity and enjoy the ride.

Another stupid foreign movie that tge critics didn't understand so they gave it good reviews so they wouldn't look stupid. Well guess what? They are stupid. Movie is foreign trash. Probably win a tin of undeserved awards.

There is something inherently likable about the way Dupieux depicts his two moronic stars and Ludig and Marsais' performances imbue them with a Dude-like sense of purposelessness.

This one is very good if you're looking for something very dumb. If you are looking for anything but goofy laughs, definitely look elsewhere. :-)

I loved this film. Absurd but it draws you in. Such an engaging fly. The final shot made me laugh right through the credits.
