When Thor's evil brother, Loki (Tom Hiddleston), gains access to the unlimited power of the energy cube called the Tesseract, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), director of S.H.I.E.L.D., initiates a superhero recruitment effort to defeat the unprecedented threat to Earth. Downey's Stark/Iron Man steals the show because the actor is capable of making the tritest dialogue sound wonderfully witty, but the CGI effects are amazing and, despite its length, the film is very enjoyable.

Just rewatched it and it’s still amazing. Seeing all the heroes come together for the first time was unforgettable. The action, humor, and team chemistry are perfect, making it one of the most entertaining superhero movies ever made. A true Marvel classic.

The Avengers (2012) gets a 4.5/5 from me. This movie completely changed superhero films and still stands as one of the best team-up movies ever made. The character building was fantastic and every hero felt important. Tony Stark’s humor, Steve Rogers adapting to the modern world, Bruce Banner’s struggle with the Hulk, and Thor’s god-like presence all blended together perfectly. Loki was an amazing common enemy to bring Cap, Stark, Bruce, Natasha, Clint, and Thor together to form the Avengers. He was charismatic, manipulative, and the perfect villain to unite Earth’s mightiest heroes. The humor still holds up, the fight scenes were incredible, and the Battle of New York remains one of the most iconic finales in superhero movie history. Overall, The Avengers delivered action, comedy, emotion, and unforgettable moments that helped define the MCU.
