Critics Consensus

Bereft of characterization or even satisfying rock 'em sock 'em, Max Steel feels like futzing with an action figure without any childhood imagination.

A movie based on a toy should be a whole lot more fun than this. Go to Full Review

A spectacle without the spectacle, an autumnal, amorphous blockbuster that just sits there, suspended in mid-air, as you soak in its ceaseless banality. Go to Full Review

Given that the character began life as a hunk of plastic with a cool name, it's hardly surprising that writers have reshaped his biography on the fly, with all the consistency of kids playing with their toys in the backyard. Go to Full Review

Max Steel is what happens when the sole rationale for your film is 'People used to like this toy.' Go to Full Review

tony G @RT79669610 1d If i could give it no stars I would, they made max a whiney cowardly kid , you just want to give him a slap for all his boohooing nothing like the original cartoon action hero energy or can do attitude , this movie was a piss poor effort for an origin story See more Rinaldo M @RT48243430 Apr 5 The movie isn't as bad as it seems, it's watchable, but honestly the script took away the quality it deserved. Max Steel is an excellent cartoon that they didn't know how to adapt properly. It's a shame that it was the first and last film in the franchise to be made. See more AJ Mar 17 Funny and entertaining See more Andre T. @andrestuckmannmoviereviews Feb 12 This is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen cause the fact that is an insult to superhero category it also has more problems to offer because the acting in this film is terrible, the main character feels completely flat and also the villain sucked. What is the point of all of this is, if this plot cannot even set up for some reason and the main character just goes into his room and fires up google and types something idiotic for me and everything in this movie is bad. F See more Slim s @RT16438791 Jan 20 Without a doubt this is the worst movie I've ever seen in my life bro, this clusterfuck miserable drug trip garbage shouldn't exist. I didn't give a shit about Max Steel cause he is the worst hero ever and a coward how could a hero hide and let his entire team die just by getting the power he needs it never makes sense at all but I used to play with this toys when I was a little kid but nowadays I don't cause this film is a big pile of shit and the worst movie in the 2010's, would you ask me on how did they make it because it was money and they failed and I was happy they did cause the movie is absolute dogshit in every level. Andy Garcia is the worst actor I seen and the main character is complete idiot and awful which brings us to the worst part steel which is Max weapon I guess but overall this movie sucks. 0/10 F See more thiago s @Thiagostone Dec 23 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Read all reviews
