2/5
The film has the right instincts, yet its flat writing, late-arriving conflict and heavy dependence on speeches keep it from landing the impact it clearly intends to. Go to Full Review

While Meesaya Murukku 2 is right in observing that independent music is slowly losing its democratic spirit and, consequently, the very purpose of its existence, it shies away from confronting the more pressing conundrum facing the scene today. Go to Full Review
Srinivasa Ramanujam The Hindu Sep 25, 2026
For a film that tries to make a point about a discriminative system present in the music industry that shuts the door on individuals from marginalised backgrounds, Meesaya Murukku needed far more grip on direction and story arc... Go to Full Review

B John Paul Philips Sep 27, 2026 Yooo so where do I start!! This movie makes you tear up!! If you loved Meesaya Murukku 1, you’d love this! So very HipHop Tamizha-esque. The songs before the release made no sense (atleast to me) but now it all ties up so perfectly and gosh you’ll love it. You’ll laugh sooo hard, cry so hard, and you might also end up being proud of yourself and grateful (or be inspired to get your stuff together and lock in) . Either way watch it on the big screen! #Tamizhanda See more
Sj S @RT24961957 Oct 18, 2026 Meesaya Murukku 2 has an interesting idea in bringing Gana music into mainstream Tamil cinema. Gana is more than music; it reflects the culture and experiences of working-class communities. However, the film fails to explore this potential fully. Unlike the first film, which balanced romance, music and supporting characters, the sequel feels too hero-centric. Karnas, Varadharajan and Chithra are underutilised despite their potential. The frequent songs also interrupt the narrative instead of strengthening it. On the positive side, the editing maintains a smooth flow. Overall, the film deserves appreciation for its cultural ambition, but weaker character development and an unbalanced screenplay prevent it from reaching the potential of its central idea. See more
HAAN T @RT66415138 Sep 27, 2026 After watching the worst films made in cinematic history (Yash's TOXIC and Nani's PARADISE), Hiphop Tamizha Adhi shows much higher potential with ACTUAL entertainment through this film. In an industry where the actors try so hard to emulate Hollywood (in which they ALWAYS fail miserably), Adhi delivers a fresh film with perfect doses of authentic comedy and messaging throughout. The actors are all fresh talents with great screen presence. HARSHATH KHAN will definitely become a huge superstar in the Indian film industry, as actors like Yash and Nani struggle to measure their professional "manhood" with poorly emulated films. Its time for new stars and REAL talent to shine!!! All Indian actors MUST learn a big lesson from Harshath Khan and Hiphop Tamizha Adhi through this film. A sequel surprise hit amongst poorly made "big" budget films. See more
