03/29/2021 I can't believe Charlie Bronson had his name associated with this script. It has to be one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The dialogue is 3rd grade level, at best. The acting is high schoolish, and the special effects and stunts are laughable. Unbelievably awful all around. See more 09/08/2020 Better than a lot of his other action films (e.g. Death Wish 2-4). The plot was well-conceived. Bronson does an admirable job in a kitschy, Scooby Doo-Esque whodunnit. Fun enough, but nothing exciting. See more 05/13/2020 Big Bronson fan, but he's totally miscast here, no Deathwish by any stretch of the imagination. Just another in a long list of movies where Mormons are misrepresented and miscast. Latter Day Saints are not cult members as are the Reformed church, a branch of the LDS church that perverted the precepts of the LDS Church. Calling Reformed members Mormons is like calling calling Jews Christians. The Reformed characters in this movie come across as angry, suspicious, and cultish. If you met Latter Day Saints today, you wouldn't notice much difference between them and anyone else, as they are not perverse but normal people. Because of the miscasting of Moromons, I had a hard time not laughing at every weird tendency these alleged Mormons had. Great unintended comedy. Acting was a joke too, even Bronson was off his game. See more 03/04/2016 Messenger of Death is an underrated Charles Bronson flick, that isn't as bad as it's made out to be. Although this isn't exactly one of his best works, but it has everything you'd expect from a Bronson action thriller, it's not perfect but has a number of good sequences that makes viewing this film worthwhile. The film boasts a decent plot and script with Bronson delivers a great performance. Director J. Lee Thompson (Cape Fear), directs with a certain flair as well as an intensity suited for Bronson Movies. Although it has potential to be so much better than it is, Messenger of Death is an action thriller, that has an intensity which can only be delivered by Bronson.
