The movie is stubbornly unintriguing despite a fine cast of actors doing their utmost. Even the almighty twist ending fails to pick up the pace. Go to Full Review

...while the adaptation works for me, I can’t help but think it could have been even better. Those twists and reveals in the final act are extremely powerful and almost become rushed, which is a real shame. Go to Full Review

This is a solid adaptation of Nuala Ellwood's popular thriller, which works well with the differences offered up by the movie format, rather than trying to piece together a book on-screen. Go to Full Review

Claudio C @Claudio666 2 days ago The Screenplay Could Be Better (12,803 – 01 Nov 2026) The war correspondent in Iraq Kate Rafter returns home when her protegee, the Iraqi boy Nidal, dies. She learns that her mother died a few days ago. She sees her estranged sister, the alcoholic Sally Rafter, whose daughter Hannah left home without saying goodbye, and her old friend Paul. She stays at her mother’s house. Kate has a childhood trauma, when her young brother died on the beach and has sessions with Dr. Shaw. When she sees and hears a boy in the next house, Dr. Shaw believes that neither Nidal nor the boy exist and is fruit of her imagination. "My Sister's Bones" (2026) is a British psychological thriller film with a good story and a bad screenplay. The plot is presented at a slow pace in a confusing way. Kate’s mind is completely damaged by the guilt she feels and, in the end, the viewer sees that Dr. Shaw is another hallucination of her. My vote is six. Title (Brazil): ‘O Passado Nunca Morre" ("The Past Never Dies\") See more MB C @MB.Cinema Apr 27, 2026 My Sister’s Bones is a slow-burn mystery drama that explores trauma and buried family secrets. It follows Kate, returning home with war scars, as past and present begin to blur. The film builds an eerie atmosphere, but its pacing often drags without strong payoff. While the central themes are compelling, character depth and tension feel underdeveloped. A rushed ending delivers answers, yet lacks the emotional weight it promises. A thoughtful but uneven experience that settles ..... See more Robert M @Robbo1 Feb 28, 2026 Beautifully shot with big skies and immaculately-lit interiors, this film is a gripper. A strong cast makes the twisty-turny plot believable, and the ending is edge-of-the sofa involving. Jenny Seagrove and Anna Friel take us through the rollercoaster action in very different ways and the movie is all the better for it. Stay for the credits and a lovely Dom Greensmith song to round off the experience. See more Anton M @AMass5 Feb 26, 2026 Great film, keeps you on the edge of your seat! See more M. L @Comiclady Feb 6, 2026 Beautifully directed and acted, this thriller will keep you guessing until the end. Simultaneously haunting and beautiful, this movie brings you into the world of layered characters who are not only struggling with current situations but also with past wounds that continue to fester and surface. Anyone who enjoys psychological dramas/thrillers will enjoy this gem of a film! See more Lu L @Lucy19 Jan 30, 2026 So good. Very atmospheric. The setting was a main character.
