Critics Consensus

Parents might call this either a spectacle-filled adventure or a shallow and vapid CG-fest, depending on whether they choose to embrace this on the same level as their kids.

It's a better than average CGI-fest, more often silly than funny. But it makes some good points about courage, self-respect, and the importance of learning about history.

With this cast, there should be more laughs, and that blame falls partially on the script, but equally on how awfully Levy paces the film.

This environment could be a CGI wonderland to teach audiences something about history, if only there were fun facts here and there. You’d think coming from a movie that takes place inside a museum the audience might learn a little, but you’d be wrong.

Fifteen years after its release, Night at the Museum is still a fun time.

Thankfully, the special-effects used to simulate the static exhibits coming to life (dinosaurs, statues, warriors etc) are both strong and varied enough to prevent a totally worn-out welcome.

I really like this movie, when first watching this movie at the age of about 7 it was my favorite movie. The story is amazing and I love the characters, I think they portrayed them very well. My favorite character is definitely Larry by a landslide.

This movie was a big part of my childhood (so I have a lot of love for it), but it still holds up; it's just so much fun. It's such a good concept for a film, and it delivers on that fun concept. The cast is so much fun as well having Ben Stiller (as the lead), Robin Williams, Steve Coogan & Owen Wilson (probably more on top of that) all in the same film makes this such a treat (I love the interactions between the charcter played by Steve Coogan & Owen Wilson when they become friends at the end they become so good together). Yeah, this is quite simply a blast.

Watching this while I'm still sick was exactly the kind of nostalgic comfort I needed. I completely forgot Shawn Levy directed this, and I had no idea just how stacked the cast really is until rewatching it now. Alan Silvestri's score is fantastic and that main theme still gives the movie so much magic and adventure. I was also surprised by how well it has held up over the years. The production design is genuinely impressive, the museum atmosphere is charming, and the whole film has a warmth that's hard not to smile at. A fun, timeless family adventure that still works. **3.5/5 stars.**

Eu acho este um bom filme e, sem dúvida, o melhor de toda a trilogia. A premissa de um museu de história natural que ganha vida todas as noites é super criativa e entrega um conceito visual muito divertido. Ótimo para ver num domingo em família.
