"Not Another Teen Movie" shows no mercy as it skewers the conventions and clichés of the genre you hate to love. Join Janey Briggs (Chyler Leigh), an aspiring artist who is outcast by her classmates for wearing glasses, a ponytail and paint-covered overalls; and Jake Wyler (Chris Evans), the all-American football star who makes a foolish bet to turn Janey into a prom queen, in a risqué romp with an assortment of twisted takes on classic teen characters and teen movies.

Critics Consensus

NATM has some funny moments, but the movie requires the audience to have familiarity with the movies being spoofed and a tolerance for toilet and sexual humor to be truly effective.

If anything, you do your best to survive the joke-a-second onslaught and hope you find maybe one out of every six to be funny.

Just when you think films have got as bad as they're ever going to be, along comes a picture that takes cinema to a whole new level of shoddiness.

When it comes to how to write a parody or even how to write a comedy film in genre there is none quite like Not Another Teen Movie. Every gag hits its mark and you will be laughing from start to finish.

Everything I loved (and hated) about teen movies at the time is perfectly captured here. It's effortlessly funny and features probably the funniest Chris Evans performance.

Absolute hilarity that spoofs famous movies like Can't Hardly Wait, She's All That, Varsity Blues and so much more!

I gave this movie five stars because it was genuinely funny and entertaining from beginning to end. It proves that a well-made comedy can still make audiences laugh. I think they should seriously consider making a sequel to Another Teen Movie. If they decide to bring it back, I hope they keep the same style of comedy that made the original so enjoyable. And if they ever want a fresh creative team to help continue the franchise, C.A.H. Films would love the opportunity to help develop future sequels with even more laughs. With the right script, I believe this series could continue for years and become an even bigger comedy franchise.

I found this movie pretty funny back when I was a teenager. It’s silly of course but it’s worth a watch.

Not Another Teen Movie is a straightforward parody that does exactly what it sets out to do, but doesn’t really rise above being a standard, middle-of-the-road comedy. It takes aim at early 2000s teen movie clichés and mostly succeeds in recreating and exaggerating them, but the humor is very hit-or-miss. There are a few genuinely funny moments and clever references, especially if you’re familiar with the films it’s spoofing. However, a lot of the jokes rely on predictable shock humor or obvious gags that don’t always land today. It also leans heavily on crude comedy, which can feel a bit repetitive over time. The cast is energetic and clearly committed, which helps keep things watchable even when the script isn’t at its strongest. Overall, it’s not bad or nightmarish at all—just a fairly average parody film that delivers some laughs but doesn’t fully stand out. A solid 5/10.
